Healing Rooted in
Land, Relationship & Spirit
Grounded in who you are. Held in connection.
Land-based healing offers culturally grounded support that honours the whole person. When we reconnect to the land, we reconnect to ourselves — to our history, our communities, and the strengths we already carry.
“Every individual carries inherent wisdom and resilience. Our role is to support you in recognizing and nurturing these strengths.”
Understanding the Foundation
What Is Land-Based Healing?
Land-based healing happens when we return to or reconnect with the land while drawing on supports to relearn, revitalize, and reclaim traditional wellness practices. The land is foundational to Indigenous identity — a living relationship, not simply a place.
For many Indigenous peoples, generations of colonization have created distance from traditional territories and the ways of knowing held within them. Land-based healing is one meaningful path toward restoring that connection — and in doing so, restoring balance within the self, the family, and the community.
At Rooted Minds, we honour this understanding. Our land-based services are offered with cultural humility, respect for local knowledge, and a commitment to care that is safe, relational, and grounded in each person’s own context.
The Four Dimensions
Healing the Whole Person
Wholistic healing recognizes that well-being is held across four interconnected dimensions. When one is affected, all are affected. Care that honours the whole person tends to all four.
Physical
The body carries our experiences — stress, grief, intergenerational impacts, and the memory of difficult times. Grounding, movement, and connection to the land offer gentle ways to support the body’s natural capacity to settle and restore.
Mental
Mental wellness grows through reflection, understanding, and tools relevant to your life. We explore thought patterns, coping responses, and lived experience in ways that respect your culture and personal context.
Emotional
Emotions are not problems to manage or hide. Grief, anger, sadness, joy, pride, and tenderness all belong in the healing journey. This space holds them with care and without judgment.
Spiritual
Connection to spirit, meaning, ceremony, and purpose is honoured as deeply personal and central to many Indigenous ways of knowing. This dimension is never imposed — it is welcomed and respected as each person defines it.
Our Approach
A Relational, Culturally Grounded Way of Healing
“Healing grows through meaningful connections to self, community, land, spirit, and the relationships that shape our well-being.”
Balance & Harmony
Well-being is understood as balance across all four dimensions of life. We support you in noticing where balance has shifted and gently working toward restoration.
Connection to Land & Culture
Land is more than a setting. It is a source of grounding, teaching, belonging, and healing. Culture offers identity, strength, and continuity across generations.
Community & Relationship
Healing does not happen in isolation. Supportive relationships, family, and community care play a vital role in restoration and are honoured as part of the process.

What Guides This Work
Foundational Beliefs
Healing Is Relational
Health is shaped by our relationships with ourselves, with others, with community, with the land, and with the wider world. Healing happens within relationship — not in spite of it.
Each Person Holds Strength
This approach is strength-based and non-judgmental. We recognize the dignity, capacity, and real possibility of healing and change that every person carries within them.
Healing Can Include History
Space is held for personal, intergenerational, and collective experiences — including the impacts of colonization and systemic barriers — with respect, care, and without judgment.
There Are Many Ways to Heal
Healing may happen through conversation, time on the land, ceremony, storytelling, creativity, or reflection. The process is guided with care and shaped around what feels safe and right for each person.
